#About this repository

This repository was made in an effor to learn git and to backup the multiple configs accross the machines I have. I give you permission to use it as you wich following the indications in the licence.

#How to use it

The files are structured with GNU Stow, a symbolic link farm manager you can install in your distro with your package manager, for example in Debian it should be something like:

$ sudo apt install stow

I'm using Gentoo, and the command needed to install stow is:

$ sudo emerge app-admin/stow

Feel free to search instructions for your system on the web.

#Cloning the repository

Standard git procedure, it's important to clone the repo on your home directory due to how stow and my files works:

$ cd ~
$ git clone https://git.sr.ht/~yaca/.dotfiles
$ cd .dotfiles

#Stow the files!

Now that you have cloned the repo, just stow whatever config you may need. For example, to use my Sway config you must run:

$ stow sway

The above instructions should create a symlink under ~/.config/sway with the files of the repo. Everytime you point to that location, it will ve redirected to the original file under ~/.dotfiles.

#Notes

For the emacs config, after you run it for the first time remember to run M-x all-the-icons-install to get the fancy icons used accross the file.
