“The author is not merely an artist; she is also a subtle psychologist who can see into the hearts of her characters.”

–  The Duel

Thanksgiving

Sweet apple scents fill the air

Friends and family will soon be there

The fire crackles and fills the air with warmth

The timer on the oven goes off

The eating never stops

Turkey, cranberries, sweet potatoes

As our eyes close we dream

Of many a sweets with wrappers that gleam

Families gather around

Football after morning cinnamon rolls

Little kids with sticky fingers in candy bowls

And gathering around the fire

Gold and silver tinsel

The sound of tapping pencils

As lists with Christmas wishes

Make there way from hand to hand

And in lines parents will stand

All of this done with families

To celebrate the holiday seasons
