#Based A/V

Based A/F multimedia library for Rust

Lines of code

WIP

Please don't look at this code; it makes me embarrassed.

LoC has already gone down substantially, so that's nice I guess

Based A/V makes multimedia easy.

#Why use Based?

  • Safer: made with as few unsafe blocks and as little unsafe code as possible
  • Documented: detailed to the best of my abilities
  • Abstractions: not strictly adherant to ffmpeg's structure; extra garbage is abstracted away
  • Supported: virtually all formats and codecs; powered by ffmpeg
  • Rust: self-explanatory

#Why not use Based?

Based A/V is focused mainly on video encoding.

My second focus is audio playback, because we need more music players.

If you're wanting video playback, Based may not be the best choice (for now at least ;).
